ABOUT THE PROJECT

Core Gameplay

This was an experimental project aimed at testing how important gameplay and its uniqueness really are, and whether it is possible to create a game focused primarily on narrative. In terms of gameplay, the game is similar to the Chrome dinosaur runner, but with several original obstacles. To simplify level creation, a custom editor was developed, allowing obstacles to be combined into patterns and arranged into sequences.

During development, the Animator was actively used to create the character’s state machine, decorative elements, and the final scene.

Result

As a result, I concluded that while this type of game has its place, a more holistic approach tends to produce better results—even with less emphasis on narrative—based on feedback from this and previous game jams. Additionally, I gained experience in creating animations using the Unity Animator and developing custom editor tools.
